In Petaluma the summer of 2006, after a full career teaching, I
decided to retire and to sell my home . It was the right time in my life for
these decisions, but the real estate market was not the most promising. It
was to my great benefit that my real estate agent was Timo Rivetti.
Timo had helped me buy my home seven years earlier and from that experience
I was confident in turning to him again. As I knew he would, he became my
incomparable guide in the process of selling my home. We faced the challenge
of a softening market with high inventory, stagnating prices, and higher
mortgage rates. But with Timo’s uncanny grasp of Sonoma real estate
realities, he successfully guided me through the process with professional
expertise and unfailing support.
He explained the factors operating on the market and showed me how they
related to my property. He advised me how to prepare my property for Open
House and for selling. He helped me expose the property to the greatest
number of prospective buyers by advertising on the Internet and assiduously
contacting every agent of interested buyers who had phoned or attended any
Open House. He had a sense of which buyers were truly interested and helped
me gain a realistic understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of my
property from their comments.
Then when a viable offer come in but the shifting market gave advantage to
my prospective buyers, he counseled me well in negotiating the offer,
pointing out that a few thousand dollars off the selling price was
inconsequential compared to the benefits of a solid and quick sale. As a
direct result of Timo’s excellence as my realtor, I had an extremely
satisfying sale at a time when other properties were sitting on the shelf.
Timo is a true professional. His ethics are sterling and his manner is
wonderfully supportive on the personal level. His expertise comes not only
from his understanding of the rigors of the real estate profession, but also

Not only did Timo Rivetti
handle our most recent escrow fabulously, but he has handled three other
